Consider/Approve Amendment to Board Policy #4.700 – Testing Programs |

Background Information: The Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) has recommended a change to Board Policy #4.700 – Testing Programs. Student scores on the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program's (TCAP) grades three through eight shall comprise 25% percent of the student's final grade in the spring semester in the subject areas of mathematics, reading/language arts, science, and social studies. Also, the Board will publish on its website information related to state and board mandated tests that will be administered during the shcool year no later than July 31 of each year. The Board’s current policy is included for your reference. Staff Recommendation: I recommend approval of the above-noted amendment to Board Policy #4.700 on the first reading. |
